EABG: Three new steps for energy infrastructure announced

The Erneuerbaren-Ausbau-Beschleunigungsgesetz (EABG) is intended to fundamentally reorganize Austria's energy infrastructure. Hattmannsdorfer has announced three further concrete implementation steps in this regard, which are intended to clarify the legal and technical framework for the expansion of renewable energies.
These steps are relevant for energy communities because, in parallel with the ongoing EEG-2027 amendment in Germany, they define market mechanisms that can also have a cross-border signal effect. This brings the question of how electricity markets and infrastructure will interact in the future more strongly into the focus of practical implementation.
We are keeping an eye on further details regarding the three implementation steps and will provide information as soon as concrete effects on energy communities become apparent.
